What We Coach

What We Coach and How It is Learned

Our promise . . . . . .

Students learn golf and life skills in an age-appropriate, integrated way that is fun for them.

Below are our 4 levels of service.

The First Tee Curriculum can be reviewed here.

1. Camps - an intro to The First Tee

The First Tee Snohomish County Camp GroupCamps are a one week session to focus on the basic golf skills and etiquette. Successful completion of a camp is a great "head start" before entering The First Tee certification classes. This way, both the parents and the coaches know the student is ready for The First Tee Program.

Camps are conducted by local PGA Professionals, Recognized First Tee Life Skills Coaches, and volunteers screened and trained by our local chapter.

2012  Camps are $125 pp.

Golf Equipment is provided for any student that enrolls in a camp upon request.

2. Classes - The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Snohomish County ClassesA nationally recognized curriculum developed by professionals in youth development and golf instruction.  This is what makes The First Tee a "unique youth development program".

Students  progress through six certification levels: TARGET, PAR Ready, PAR, BIRDIE, EAGLE, and ACE.

Each level includes core lessons in golf skills seamlessly delivered with life skills.

Class lessons are once or twice per week for six to eight weeks in each of the three seasonal sessions of Spring, Summer, and Fall. Classes meet at the same location, day and time each week.  Classes are coached by adults that are "Recognized The First Tee Coaches" through their training by the national Program experts, and other local adults that have received their coaching training by the local chapter.  Background checks are done on every coach in the program.

Completion of a The First Tee Camp is a great way to start  for students that are new to golf.

Tuition for The First Tee Classes in 2012 is $125.   This includes the annual membership fee of $25.   Financial assistance is available upon request if needed.  Students may need to repeat class levels before successfully meeting the certification standards.  We encourage students to progress at their own pace.

Once a student successfully certifies at the PAR level, they get the added benefit of enjoying up to one free junior round (9 holes) of golf per week at one of our "affiliate" golf courses while actively enrolled in a Birdie Level Class.

3. The First Tee Junior Tournaments

Junior players throughout North Puget Sound are invited to join in competetions scheduled at our Affiliate Locations.  Players are put into age divisions with local qualifying tournaments cumulating in a North Puget Sound championship event.

4. Personal Lessons

Only Recognized First Tee Coaches offer personal lessons. A $50 hourly donation is suggested for this time.  For more information or to set-up pesonal lessons, please call Jeff Cornish at 425-422-9527 or email Jeff.
