What We Coach

What We Coach and How It is Learned

Our promise . . . . . .

Students learn golf and life skills in an age-appropriate, integrated way that is fun for them, and meaningful for their future.

The caring adult coach creates a positive learning environment that empowers youth to explore, discover, and develop skills.

Our promise is to deliver programs that are positive, active, fun and affordable for all students.

1. Certification Classes - The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Snohomish County ClassesOur nationally recognized curriculum developed by professionals in youth development and golf instruction.  This is what makes The First Tee a "unique youth development program".

Students  progress through 6 levels: PAR Ready, PAR, BIRDIE READY, BIRDIE, EAGLE, and ACE.

Each level includes core lessons in golf seamlessly delivered with life skills.

Class lessons are once or twice per week during the summer season. Classes meet at the same location, day and time each week.  Classes are coached by adults that are background checked, and trained by the local chapter's "Recognized National Coach", and may have attended other regional and national group training.    Washington State Patrol background checks are done on every coach and volunteer helping the charity in any capacity.

Tuition for The First Tee Classes in 2013 is $175.   This includes the annual membership fee of $25 to become a "The First Tee Participant Member", and be eligible for member only Participant Opportunities in the national network.  Scholarship assistance is available upon request.  Students may need to repeat class levels before successfully meeting the certification standards.  Camps and clinics can be very helpful for student to improve golf skills to help them successfully complete the Certification Classes. We encourage students to progress at their own pace.

Once a student successfully certifies at the Birdie level, they may get the added benefit of enjoying up to one free junior round (9 holes) of golf per week at one of our "affiliate" golf courses.  Check your local Affiliate Site for details.

2. Camps and Clinics - a "taste" of  The First Tee

The First Tee Snohomish County Camp GroupCamps are 4 day sessions to focus on the basic golf skills and etiquette. Successful completion of a camp is a great "head start" before entering The First Tee Certification Classes. This way, both the parents and the coaches know the student is ready for The First Tee Program.

Camps are conducted by Recognized First Tee Life Skills Coaches, PGA pros, and volunteers screened and trained by our local chapter.

2013  Camps are $150 pp.

Golf Equipment is provided free upon request for any student that enrolls in a camp.
